HEDYOTIS DIFFUSA:  Bitter, Sweet, Cold.
Actions & Indications:
Clear heat, strongly relieves fire toxicity and reduces abscesses for intestinal abscess, toxic sores, ulcerations and swelling
 
 
ATRACTYLODES MACROCEPHALA:  Bitter, Sweet, Warm.
Actions & Indications:
Tonifies spleen, augments Qi for spleen and stomach deficiency with such symptoms diarrhea, fatigue, lack of appetite, strengthens spleen and calms the fetus
 
 
SCUTELLARIA BARBATA:  Acrid, bitter, Cold.
Actions & Indications:
Clear heat, relieves toxicity, invigorates blood, and reduces swelling for furuncles, sores, and abscesses as well as snakebites, promotes movement and disperses in the course of clearing. Recently use in treating cancer in one study 30g̀r of SCUTELLARIA BARBATA was prepared as a decoction and taken daily by 36 patients with either esophageal or Lung cancer. A certain number did experience short- term improvement in their symptoms but no cures or long -term remissions in their symptoms were reported (pharmacological & clinical research).
 
BUPLEURUM CHINENSIS: Bitter, Acrid, Cool
Actions & Indications:
Raises the Yang QI in patterns of spleen or stomach deficiency, for Hemorrhoids, anal or uterine prolapsed and diarrhea due to collapse of the spleen Qi.
 
ASTRAGALUS MEMBRANACEUS: Sweet, Slightly Bitter, neutral.
Actions & Indications:
Raises the yang Qi of spleen and stomach for prolapsed disorders such as prolapsed uterus, stomach or rectum, also for uterine bleeding. Augments the protective Qi and tonifies blood.
 
PANAX GINSENG: Sweet, Slightly Bitter, and Slightly Warm.
Actions & Indications:
Strongly tonifies basal Qi for extreme collapse of the Qi, tonifies the Lung and augments the Qi. Strengthens spleen and tonifies stomach for lethargy,
lack of appetite, chronic diarrhea, in severe cases prolapse of stomach, uterus or rectum.
 
ACTAEA DAHURICA: Sweet, Acrid, Cool.
Actions & Indications:
Raises the yang Qi for deficiency and sinking of middle Qi leading to such symptoms as shortness of breath, fatigue, and prolapsed.
Also can be used as a messenger to guide the effects of other herbs upward.
